Thank-you for this forum. I'm hoping I might be able to find some support for a problem.

A few years ago, I was sucked into the trap of internet pornography. I became addicted to it. I looked at it every night. I even did it at work and almost got caught by my manager. (I think i did get caught but he ignored it) It has progressed to the point that I only feel sexual with my computer and not people.

Are there other people who have become sexual with their computer? Any help is appreciated.

My husband had your affliction but now he uses ice. We have a deep freeze near our computer room and he keeps a pack in there. If he starts to have feelings at the computer he uses the pack on himself.

He also has stopped buying the newest equipment, we use secondhand computers and that seems to help.

This is a growing problem, especially for young people. You should also talk to a councilor or your pastor.

My husband did not tell me. He was ashamed. But I started finding lotion on the keyboard and monitor. When I asked him about it he said it was from his dry hands. But I knew that he did not use hand lotion. Then I hid in the back room while he was on the computer. I started to hear noises and when I came into the room he was being "intimate" with the computer. He was so shameful. He wouldn't talk to me for days.

Eventually we talked to our pastor about it and he was very helpful. He told us that technology is a very powerful source of temptation in today's society. And that Bruce was not alone. We prayed together and we felt the healing begin.

Now my husband still uses the computer but he is careful to keep his interactions friendly and honorable.

I am an atheist, but you can pray for me. Does it work if I'm not christian?

My brother sometimes uses my computer and found some fur that I have used to do it with. (velcrowed to the monitor) I told him it was for a halloween costume but i think he thinks something os weird. Maybe I should tell him. I know he looks at internet "P" so maybe he would understand.

I don't have a pastor but my college has peer councilors. Do you think I should tell one. Is it confidential?

In the meantime I am using oldfashion will power. I broke down and did it about 2 weeks ago when my brother was in Seattle, but I've been good since.

Fur? What are you doing with fur? Attaching it to the computer? My husband didn't use fur.

Phil, it sounds like you may be very far along in your addiction. Maybe you should try to get a way from your computer for awhile. It is summer. You should get outside. Go camping. Nature is very theraputic.

And yes, even if you are an atheist, I can still pray for you. In fact, you will need me to pray even more.

I have been outside more in the last 2 weeks then the last year. My cravings are going away. Even when I see laptops or bank machines I just take a deep breath and look at trees or grass.

The fur was a stupid idea. It felt okay at first but then it gave me a rash that would just remind me of how sick i was. Plus it started to smell bad and I think my brother knew.

College starts in a few days and I think I mght start a group for people who want to stop being sexual with computers and start being sexual with each other. Since I joined this board and met you, I know that i am not alone.
