My son is addicted to video games, i.e. Warcraft. He spends all of his waking hours playing the game online. I want to get him out of this mode and into the real world. I wasn't sure if there were any parent support groups in the cities in the U.S. Please advise.

I can't believe there aren't more responses or input to this serious addiction. I can't find any parent support groups locally and I'm going crazy . . . My 17 yr. old daughter has been living in the World of Warcraft for almost a year now and is beyond reach. She plays all night and sleeps all day. She's dropped out of school and lives for this game. In reality she should be getting prepared and excited to graduate and instead she's this mole who comes out of her room to eat and go to the bathroom. I've decided to try to find some help on-line and am flabbergasted that there's hardly anything on this forum. Where are all the concerned parents?? My daughter has to be playing with somebody's kids. I don't know what to do anymore. I can't even look at her without her shutting down -- she's not listening and I don't know what to say. I just want my girl back. I don't know if I'd ever get her into counseling unless he/she could communicate to her through this game. Any suggestions?
